More snow.

Yesterday we woke up to this. By this morning, however, the snow
had melted away and the sky was a vibrant blue.

So very soon after I first stepped onto the snowy wonderland, I noticed this little “ride” over to my right. To me, it looked like a training tool of some sort, but actually it’s just this revolving rope that helps you get up a small slope to the lodge. It looked completely innocuous. The kids were handling it just fine, and it looked like an area I could get comfortable with. At the end of the day I approached the base at the bottom to give it a shot. I grabbed hold of the rope, and I held on for about 3 feet worth before I slipped sideways and tumbled down towards the tree. Right there are then, I could imagine my brothers just losing it watching me.
And it’s the kids that really make you feel worthless out there when you’re puttering around trying to learn. There were 3 year olds zooming past me on skis––no joke.

Oh, I had an absolute blast trying this out. The past few days though, have been rather painful.
OK, so since today marks the first day on the calendar of predictions (Hello Sydney!), we’re posting the summary of the guesses. May the best guess win! (Also, if you haven’t put in your guess, it’s not too late!)

Update: Panzy and Poppy’s guesses are in (“man-child”!) as are some additional special guests!

Over the weekend I went out for my first snowboarding trip. Just an hour and a half away!

This is just your typical drink at a local coffee roaster known as Zoka.

Over the weekend we took Remy to the dog park one last time before the baby arrives.
Lauren and I dressed up to grab some dessert to mark our last Valentines before our world changes.
Isn’t she the prettiest pregnant woman in the world?

Yes apparently even here, they cut trees down from time to time.

I heard somewhere that the pacific northwest has some of the rarest among moss types because of the weather here.
It also makes for a super interesting photo subject.

One of the neatest things about the weather up here is the way it affects the ground. Even when totally dry, the moss
along trails gives way to the perfect shock absorption. It’s kind of like walking on marshmallows.
Boy? Girl?

In keeping with family tradition, it’s time to compile guesses for the the birth date of our baby, as well as answer the Big Question- boy or girl?? The official due date is March 6th.
Massive bonus points if you can guess the name. Winner scores a Google t-shirt. (!!!) Now, off you go!
