Buying a couch.

Well, as much as we love using all of Tiffany’s furniture around here, we’re breaking down and realizing that we’re gonna need to buy some of this stuff at some point in time. So, first thing’s first: We could use a nice big, comfy couch. We’re in the preliminary stages, I guess, of looking . . . and then today I came across this one: Oh my goodness.

The designer simply went mad with this one. I have the feeling that whoever designed this couch saw that his/her career was shifting dramatically and must have wanted to make one final impact in the design community. So here’s to you: nasty couch designer.

The unfortunate thing is that this furniture blog sees this as a “beautiful sofa set.” Someone is definitely trying to pull a fast one.

Any good couch buying tips out there?

Clark Howard suggests IKEA and Costco. If you go on the Costco site and see something there, I’ll be glad to let you use my card.

I don’t know how you feel about leather (those poor defenseless cows, and all) but I highly recommend it. We’ve had our set for more than two years, and it’s holding up great. Plus it’s easy to keep clean and keeps out dust mites (scary, creepy crawlies that many people are allergic to).

When I first clicked on the comments I couldn’t see the name of the person who left the first comment. But it didnt take me getting past the first two words to know it was my mommy. Oh “JoJo” so predictable but we love you for that. I’ll see you crazy kids for Thanksgiving.

Little kids would eat that couch up. I know Luke would at least. All those stair-like climbable ledges! You could have cars on one, trains on another. FLAT SURFACE AREA EXPLOSION.
