Make Way for Irony!
Jul 14 2005 – by Josh in Getting Married
I just got a phone call from Lauren and could immediately tell by her tone that something huge had just happened. She and her mom were out doing some shopping at Costco . . . we can assume for the final touches on the wedding. Their walking . . . they’re taking it all in and then Lauren’s mom whispers emphatically to her, “The tall guy! . . . The tall guy!” It turns out they had just sighted the famed “Runaway” bride’s poor groom-to-still-have-been. This just 48 hours before the wedding . . . is it a sign???

STOP!!!! That is too weird. I can assure you, Josh, that my mom and sister got thrills from that situation…not cold feet. My mom loves to watch 24 hour news stations! You guys…I’m so excited about tonight! I can’t wait to see you both so soon. PS–I’m addicted to the fair skinned italians after my 1 1/2 hour marathon yesterday. PPS–And it’s definitely Muppets Take Manhatten since no one has guessed. I’m guessing on this though…is big bird on the left?
You got it: Big Bird’s on the left. I still don’t understand why the Sesame Street Muppets aren’t on the groom’s side. Ms. Piggy’s never been on Sesame Street — whoever did the seating wasn’t thinking. Groomsmen: we need to do a better job with this tomorrow.
I’m not sure which scares me more: that you analyzed muppet seating arrangements or the implications that this might have for Josh’s wedding itself. Is Lauren Miss Piggy? Is Josh’s grandmother Big Bird? And if so, should people feel nervous eating turkey or ham at the reception? So many questions…
VERY dangerous move to post a question “is Lauren Miss Piggy” the week of the wedding. It’s a very fragile time in a girl’s life! And of course she is not. The girl wears 0′s and 2′s.
I remain Gonzo, though. Gonzo rules.
